Synopsis

Teddy just wants to plan a surprise party for his girlfriend, Lisa. Surprise parties show people how much you love them. Everything was fine until Zooey got involved. All Zooey wants to do is plan her own idea of a surprise party for Lisa.

Molly, Zooey's best friend, is feeling left out and a little ostracized by Zooey's newer and more intense friendship with Lisa. While Zach, Teddy's best friend, is suffering from being unexpectedly dumped by April, his short-lived girlfriend. April is consumed with empathy for Chelsea, her new friend, who is an outsider.

James, still fighting his unrequited love for Lisa, has decided at the last minute to make her an elaborate birthday gift to her heart. And Paul, James's constant bickering buddy, is working on his own gift for Lisa.

Chelsea, an odd and ostracized loaner, has latched onto April. Her one goal is to get invited to this party so that she can show everyone that she can fit in.
